The first batch of cryogenic freezer units are put into use, with Panasonic cold chain leading the industry development

With the rapid development of the internet and the impact of the epidemic, community group buying businesses have sprung up like mushrooms after rain. However, the resulting problems with commodity delivery have become a major obstacle to the development of the business. Recently, in response to the needs of community group buying customers for faster fresh produce delivery and reduced costs, Panasonic Cold Chain (Dalian) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Panasonic Cold Chain") announced the successful development and production of cryogenic freezers. Development of this product began in mid-April when the customer's needs were received, and the order was completed by mid-May, taking only one month. Over 800 units have been ordered, receiving widespread customer recognition. This is also the first mass application of cryogenic freezers in the retail and logistics fields in China.

Cryogenic agents are currently the best cold preservation solution for ensuring food safety during the delivery of chilled and frozen goods. Compared with traditional dry ice cold preservation methods, they can reduce operating costs by more than 50%. However, due to the characteristics of cryogenic agents, ordinary food freezers cannot meet their rapid freezing requirements, while traditional frozen containers and cold storage have long single freezing times, require special storage space, have high relocation costs and require disassembly and installation time, and cannot orderly manage the cryogenic agents. To meet customer operational needs, Panasonic Cold Chain has leveraged its many years of expertise in commercial refrigeration and freezing to develop a cryogenic freezer.

Panasonic Cold Chain Leads Industry Development with First Mass Production of Cryogenic Freezer

The Panasonic Cold Chain freezer (large capacity model) can accommodate 150-160 cryogenic agents and complete freezing within 4-6 hours. The internal air circulation adopts a three-dimensional surround design, using high-speed, low-temperature resistant cooling fans to achieve rapid and even freezing of the cryogenic agents. Panasonic Cold Chain has also developed a small capacity model for grid storage that freezes 60 units in 12 hours. The freezer comes standard with a 485 communication interface and can be equipped with an IoT smart module to achieve refined operational management. Customers can understand the operating status of the equipment in real-time and receive completion reminders on their mobile phones when freezing is complete, improving management efficiency.

The freezer uses an integrated unit design, making on-site installation convenient and allowing multiple units to be placed in a row to save space. Panasonic Cold Chain has developed a special cart for the characteristics of cryogenic agents, making it easy to move. In addition, the combination of cryogenic agents and logistics boxes is highly flexible, allowing for different numbers of cryogenic agents to be loaded according to the size of the vehicle and logistics boxes. It can also achieve multi-temperature zone goods delivery with a single vehicle, saving transportation costs.

Panasonic Cold Chain is a joint venture between Panasonic Corporation and Dalian Bing Shan Group. It is a well-known cold chain solution provider in China. In addition to cryogenic freezers, it also provides low-temperature logistics boxes, refrigerated and frozen self-pickup lockers, and other full cold chain service solutions, covering everything from the central processing center to the cold chain terminal, safeguarding food safety. Faced with the huge development potential and challenges of the cold chain industry, Panasonic will continue to innovate in the future, using reliable and safe product technologies and solutions to contribute to the better life of Chinese consumers.
