Recently, news reporters participated in the "State-owned Enterprises Open Day" event, jointly hosted by the Publicity Department of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and China Shipbuilding Group. The event included in-depth visits to three shipbuilding state-owned enterprises under China Shipbuilding Group: Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Jiangnan Shipyard), Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Hudong-Zhonghua), and Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding).
As China's first military shipbuilding enterprise with a 156-year history, Jiangnan Shipyard is currently a global leader in the R&D and construction of large liquefied gas carriers and ultra-large container ships. Its scientific research vessels, represented by the "Xuelong 2" polar scientific research icebreaker, have the highest domestic market share.
Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Hudong-Zhonghua) is China's only large-scale LNG marine transportation equipment manufacturer. The 23,000-TEU dual-fuel container ship is a highlight of China's large liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers. In the process of building a complete LNG industrial chain, Hudong-Zhonghua has developed a complete range of LNG carriers from 20,000 cubic meters to 270,000 cubic meters. The product line has been expanded to include LNG bunkering vessels, floating liquefied natural gas storage and regasification units (LNG-FSRUs), LNG-powered vessels, and the conversion of traditional fuel-powered vessels to LNG-powered systems.
Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding) extended one of its dock to 740 meters last year, making it the longest dock in Asia, capable of simultaneously building two luxury cruise ships. Currently, the first cruise ship project is more than halfway complete, and the interior decoration work is steadily transitioning into the actual ship construction phase.
